Welcome to the new davnmaths.com

Enjoy the pretty colors while they last.

Update October 24, 2020: The pretty colors did not last long. The site has been redesigned and is completely different. This article is basically garbage now.

Look, a new website! It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally gotten around to updating davnmaths.com and actually (hopefully) making it do something. It has information. It has a portfolio page. It has a contact form and FAQ (which, among other things, explains the weird spelling of the URL). It has color, and fun!

It also has a focus: Advertising my services as a portrait photographer, both for studio headshots and on-location environmental portraits. While my portfolio page is filled with personal work (like the photo above) and the (all new!) Print Shop offers a small selection of “fine art” photos, the homepage now actually tells people what I can be hired for. I think that’s helpful.

I also caved and paid for a faster hosting plan. So, you know, the site actually loads now. Which is nice. (To afford it, I will be cancelling davenmathies.com — my writing portfolio site — and incorporating it into this one).

Now, it’s possible that none of this will actually help me generate business, but I have to try. Because as of July 1, I gave up my sweet freelance editing job — which paid me via monthly retainer — and that means money is about to be tight. And not tight like cool. Tight like… gone.

In the coming days and weeks, I hope to fully flesh out the remaining pages on this site, like the price guide. I also will put up information on model collaborations, as I hope to work with more people on a trade basis when I need models for camera reviews.

And last but not least, you may see some guest bloggers showing up here. It’s going to be fun. Stay tuned for that, oh one person who is reading this.
